Consuelo had a very organized lesson plan; and her online content was also super organized! I liked that she had the objectives explicitly stated in the weekly course content. She also presents the objectives for the day and neatly ties back to previous concepts/ideas that were taught in the class as it pertains to the workshop. Today's class was a directed workshop on the research report assignment. Students had a worksheet on the report process that focused on the rhetorical situation, rhetorical choices and the research process. She asked probing questions to help students with the parts of the worksheet. When students struggled with the process, rather than answer for them, she had them move to groups to discuss briefly. Great! Students worked independently while the Consuelo moved around the classroom and helped answer questions. She is an effective lecturer, and it is apparent that students trust her expertise and feel comfortable discussing their doubts/concerns and questions.
